Dr. Wan earned his M.D. and Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He was trained in psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. During his training, Dr. Wan received the Outstanding Resident Award by the National Institutes of Mental Health. He also completed a psychoanalytic fellowship at the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute.
Dr. Wan has an extensive publication history. He is certified in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. He has also been trained in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and exposure-based treatments for obsessive compulsive disorder (ACT and ERP). He is a member of the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute, a member of the American Psychiatric Association, and a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Wan works with a mobile treatment team supporting New Yorkers with serious mental illness.
